Nursing taught me to pay attention โ to vitals, to patterns, to what a body needs before it says so. I run every venture the same way.
I'm a BSN candidate at Chamberlain University. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention from the University of Southern California in May 2017, and my path through health care has been hands-on ever since: I've worked as a Certified Nursing Aide and Certified Nursing Assistant, spent time as a Research Associate, and now serve as a Medical Clerk at Alameda Health System's Highland Hospital โ supporting patient flow, coordinating across interdisciplinary teams, and keeping a fast-paced floor running on schedule.
That clinical grounding โ patient intake, vitals, electronic health records, insurance verification, scheduling โ taught me something I didn't expect: how to notice small signals early, stay calm under pressure, and care for people well. Skills that turned out to transfer directly into building things.
My first venture, Maison Agodi, started as a way to fix my own dry, sensitive skin โ it's grown into a handcrafted skincare and haircare line built around one idea: self-care is skincare, and it should feel simple, not like a ten-step routine.
That same instinct โ notice the gap, then build the fix โ is now shaping Mkporindu Solutions, my consulting practice, and two apps in the works: MK Habits and MK Careers. I'm building all of it at once, the same way I've learned to work a shift: one priority at a time, fully present for each one.
